Best of 2008

The boat house in central park, rumored to have the best chocolate cake in the world...

 .........

Matt and I spent some time in  New York this fall... The trip went like this.
I said something snarky, Matt triumphed in the cunning retort, Then sucker punched me, wrestled me into submission, won, charmed me, and finally, as always, I got him back.

This is hands down the best book I have read this year. If you have a moment go get it, and read it. Sooo good

I love this photo shoot Kira Knightly did for Vogue. The clothing is so coveted by moi - the african safari chic is probially my ultimate favoite style, but really what I want is to hang out with that baby elephant!!!

Matt, Dan and I on the way to the hospital on the day Megan was born. This is Seattle, coffee must always happen. Even on such an auspicious day

Matt with his brand new niece/ god-daughter; Megan Elisabeth Sandmeyer.

Owen cozied up in his basket,

& Stella 'making love' to the camera as all feline models are prone to do...

And Scout swimming the summer away.

Listening to Air France, below is a link to my favorite viedo of theirs. They are from Sweden.

Matt and I spent an early fall working at a wonderful vineyard in Washington

We had such a great time thanks to our friend Dan,
who hooked us up and took us out with him to Pleasant Valley

These are both taken by my adventuring freind Alexa with whom Scout and I climed our first Washington moutian. The other adventure was berry picking in 100 degree heat. Scout has just come out of the river where he wisly waited untill we had enough blackberrys for about 4 pies.

I feel that this photo of Scout and I should be made into a painting to hang in the drawing room, prefurably over the fire place... so english. How we love dogs and horses.

Our new flat. We love it here!

I know I have too many photos of Matt and I,

Mainly because I love photos and do not have any kids to photograph, but this is one of my favorites. This was a happy happy day in our favorite Seattle Park. I think Scout and Matt are having a very meaningful conversation here!

Alexa and I taking in a lot of sun and a little culture at the summer shakespere festival. Later sailing the sound with Matt and Cole. Beer and popcorn. Yumm.

This is a photo from Joe and Erica's rehersal dinner, left to right starting with the j. crew model Mike, his wife Amber, moi, Matt, Beth and her funny face making Husband Cloin. All the boys in this photo went to elementry school together and are still super tight. How great is that? I love all of them especially Beth and Amber!

Joe and Erica Smith just after the wedding.

Beth and Colin Lindsey          Mike and Amber Horey         Brian Pendergrass

The after party....

The happy couple Erica and Joe Smith dancing at their wedding.

My hasnsome fiance! Breakfasting at the Shanty whilst looking through fashion mags with me to help me get inspiration for a fashion shoot I was doing later that day. Bless his cotton socks...

Halloween 08. Paris, Dan, Matt and I have never seen so many Michael Phelps or slutty cheerleaders in our life! I was lame and did not dress up so Paris let me borrow her Zebra cowgirl hat for part of the night. Thanks Paris! Dannys gilligan hat makes him look like the scary guy from " No country for old men". Dan and Paris are thegreatest freinds who happen to be family. We are so lucky they only live a block away!

Matt took this of me at Pikes market with his Holga. I ust love how mysterious it feels. Just one more talent to rack up to Matt. Last year we learned he was a better writter than I, now he has beaten me with more god given talent in the photography pool.
Well at least I can be a muse.

Mum and Scout after a wonderful Thanksgiving super, with Kirksey, Matt, Mum 4 dogs and I!

Kirksey looks really happy, must have been all the Arrested Development we watched while cooking.

The Bunny.. I love my escaping bunny. Courtsy of Matt and Dan who were neirly kicked out of Bartles whilst trying to help bunny escape. (Escape shown isle, not said store )

Christams in Seattle. This is the most snow Seattle has had in something liek 20 years. I think it was a little much for my california dog. He did not love having snow up past his belly to wade through. He is more a beach lover like his Mum.

I also want to give a shout out to Aggie. I think she great and a free spirt. I woudlnt bring it up except the british press are giving her such a hard time. I think they labeled her the most anoying thing in 2008. Pee Shaw.. stop being so negitive Enland..

Wow, that's impressive Elle. You fit the entire year into one post! I think Mike and I will head to Seattle soon. We'll have to meet up.
